we do not recommend these, (except on board the “Hotel Barges”), as they force you to maintain an all too often exhausting pace. some hire bases are situated so far apart that you must drive the boat for six to seven hours a day, just to get from one end to the other! this does not make for a relaxing holiday on the canal! it also does the canal no good, the banks are becoming eroded. for these reasons we do not give details of companies offering this type of boat hire. |
